Don't get caught up in what everyone around you thinks. Listen to the opinions and ideas of others, but have the confidence and mental toughness to reject anything that doesn't align with what you're trying to accomplish at this moment.
Every drill, every practice plan, every substitution, and every decision during a game should have a purpose. You must understand why you are doing what you are doing. When your coaching is intentional and purpose driven, your players gain confidence, your team develops consistency, and your program continues to grow.
Coach with conviction, stay true to your philosophy, and never stop learning.

Don't Give Up on Kids
Most experienced coaches understand that a young athlete who may be behind at age 10 could become one of the best players once their body catches up with their passion, commitment, and proper training.
It's easy to coach the most talented athletes. The true measure of a coach is the ability to teach, encourage, and develop every player to become the very best version of themselves.
Great coaches don't just identify talent they cultivate it. They recognize potential, invest in long-term development, and understand that every child grows and matures at a different pace.
When another athlete seems more advanced, help your players understand that it may simply not be their time. Every athlete develops at a different rate. Encourage them to keep working, keep learning, and keep believing in the process. Persistence, patience, and consistent effort often close the gap.
Your job isn't simply to coach today's best player. It's to help build tomorrow's best player. Sometimes the athlete who is overlooked today becomes the one everyone is talking about tomorrow because someone had a belief in (patience) in them and never gave up.
